Compliance & Regulation
Is SurgeIR compliant with EU Market Abuse Regulation (EU MAR)? +
There is no formal EU MAR compliance certification for platforms and tools. EU MAR compliance is essentially a process.
In that sense, yes. SurgeIR is more compliant than traditional filiming production as it adheres to these key principles:

- Content control remains fully with the issuer
- No autonomous publishing or unsupervised disclosure
- Clear separation between drafting, review, approval, and release
- Full auditability of scripts and versions
- Equal information access via pluggable, public distribution
SurgeIR is a communication tool, not a disclosure decision engine.
Does SurgeIR introduce selective disclosure risk? +
No. SurgeIR is explicitly designed to avoid selective disclosure:
- Videos are only approved by key insider list stakeholders. No external video crews and/or editors involved.
- Content mirrors approved disclosures (press releases, decks, scripts)
- No adaptive or real-time content changes post-approval
Is SurgeIR compliant with GDPR? +

Yes. All AI avatars used within SurgeIR are:

Can SurgeIR be used to create misleading or manipulative content? +
No. SurgeIR is designed as an enterprise-grade productivity tool for Investor Relations professionals, not a platform for disinformation. We have multiple layers of protection to ensure the integrity of the content generated:
1. Verified User Ecosystem
Unlike "open" or consumer-facing AI tools, SurgeIR is a strictly enterprise-only platform.
Know Your Customer (KYC): Every client using SurgeIR undergoes a verification process. We do not offer anonymous or public access.
Accountability: Because every user is tied to a verified corporate entity, there is a clear chain of accountability for all content produced.
2. Strict Terms & Conditions
Our service agreement explicitly prohibits the use of SurgeIR for the creation of fraudulent, deceptive, or manipulative financial communications. Violation of these terms results in immediate account suspension and potential legal escalation.
SurgeIR enforces strict guardrails:
- No unauthorised deepfake impersonation
- No deceptive identity representation
- No unauthorised voice or likeness cloning
- Use is restricted to legitimate financial communication purposes
3. Human-in-the-Loop Requirement
SurgeIR is an assistive technology, not an autonomous one. It is designed to help draft, structure, and refine communications based on the data you provide. The final output always requires review, editing, and approval by your internal compliance and IR teams.
Is AI usage disclosed? +
Yes. Transparency is a core pillar of the SurgeIR platform. We believe that maintaining stakeholder trust requires clear communication regarding the origin of digital content.
Platform-Level Disclosure
SurgeIR is an AI-native ecosystem. We maintain full transparency with our enterprise partners regarding where and how generative models are utilized within the workflow. Our interface is designed to ensure that users are always aware when they are interacting with or leveraging AI-driven insights and automation.
Output-Level Disclosure (Client Content)
For content generated for external stakeholder (such as video presentations or earnings summaries), SurgeIR provides built-in tools to help clients meet evolving regulatory and ethical standards:
- Best Practices Guidance: We provide template options to ensure that end-viewers can clearly distinguish between human-led commentary and AI-assisted synthesis (e.g., “This presentation was developed with the assistance of SurgeIR generative technology”).
- Regulatory Alignment: Our disclosure framework is designed to help your compliance team align with emerging global AI transparency mandates (such as the EU AI Act).
Security & Enterprise Readiness
How secure is SurgeIR? +
SurgeIR is built for enterprise and regulated environments:
- Encrypted data in transit and at rest
- Role-based access control
- Secure APIs
- Minimal insider exposure compared to traditional video production
Who can access our content? +
Only authorized users within your organization.
SurgeIR does not grant internal or third-party access to your data for training or analytics.
All SurgeIR employees are bound by EU MAR policies in their employment agreements. Once a new client has signed on to the service, a company wide Restricted Dealing Notice is issued to all employees.
Contractually, SurgeIR adheres to compliance with financial-communications obligations (including MAR, ESMA, SEC, or other applicable market-disclosure frameworks).
Does SurgeIR log activity? +
Yes. SurgeIR maintains a robust, immutable audit trail of all significant activities within the platform. Given the sensitive nature of Investor Relations and the regulatory requirements surrounding financial disclosures, we prioritize complete visibility into how content is created and managed.
What is captured in the Audit Log?
Our logging system is designed to provide a comprehensive "who, what, and when" for every session:
-
User Authentication: All successful logins, failed attempts, and session durations.
-
Content Lifecycle: A granular record of every video generated, script drafted, or document uploaded, including the identity of the user who initiated the action.
-
Administrative Changes: Any modifications to user permissions, workspace settings, or security configurations.
-
Export & Sharing: Tracking of when and where content is exported or shared externally from the platform.
- Approvals.
Enterprise-Grade Compliance
SurgeIR’s logging infrastructure is built to support the rigorous standards required by modern enterprise compliance frameworks:
-
Immutability: Logs are stored in a read-only environment to ensure they cannot be altered or deleted by users, maintaining the integrity of the evidence chain.
-
Traceability: In the event of an internal review or regulatory inquiry, administrators can reconstruct the timeline of any financial narrative developed within the system.
-
SIEM Integration: For premium enterprise tiers, we support the streaming of logs to your organization’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, or Azure Sentinel) for real-time monitoring.
Data Privacy & Retention
While we log activity for security and accountability, we strictly adhere to GDPR and CCPA standards. Activity logs are retained for a standard period (typically 12 months) or according to your organization’s specific data retention policy outlined in our Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Note for Administrators: Detailed audit reports are available for export directly from the Admin Dashboard, allowing your compliance team to perform regular spot-checks without needing technical support.
